In the era where legendary music composers like AR Rahman, Anirudh and others dominate the industry, the 20-year-old, young creative mind, Sai Abhyankar, started making his tunes right. From sparkling visuals to energetic beats, Sai has captured hearts and eyes in each and every aspect of his music videos.

Growing up in Virugambakkam with musician parents, popular singers Tipu and Harini, Sai Abhyankkar was extensively trained under singers Sriram Parthasarathy, AT Ramamoorthy and Henry Kuruvilla.
The Dawn of an Indie Musical Journey

With his avid interest in music since the age of 11, Sai later created his own style of indie music, which now echoes in the minds of youngsters. His style of indie music is the result of daily sequencing based on his state of mind, which got its shape over time.
In 2022, Sai made his first devotional musical reel, “Valam Vara Vendum Ayye,” with lyrics written by Sadhu Om Swamigal. While this dawn of his musical journey gained traction on social media, he also gained significant attention through cover songs.

Katchi Sera: The Breakthrough
Popularly known as Abhay, the musician released his first independent music track titled Katchi Sera on January 18, 2024. With vocals by Sai and his sister Sai Smirti, the quirky and trippy music video composed with rhythmic melody and impressive visuals soon gained traction on YouTube and Spotify. Soon the video went viral on social media, creating a unique Reels trend on Instagram, surpassing borders.
So far, the music video has gained more than 200 million views on YouTube.
Aasa Kooda: A Revelation
The young musician who created his own fanbase withhis debut dropped his next musical video, titled Aasa Kooda, on June 13, 2024. The second creation by the sibling duo again created records. The rhythmic melody took up the top 10 charts of Spotify, such as viral global songs and top songs in India, among others. Creating a storm on all social media platforms like YouTube, Instagram and Spotify, the film has gained more than 200 million views on YouTube.
Sithira Puthiri
His recent work, Sithara Poothiri, which also features actress Meenakshi Chaudhary, once again took social media platforms by storm. Upgrading his unique style of presentations, Sai also dropped some iconic dance moves, which filled the Instagram feeds of the youngsters.
STR 49 to Lokesh Kanagaraj’s Benz
Sai will score music for Simbu’s STR 49 and for the Lokesh Kanagaraj-backed Benz, said to be part of the LCU (Lokesh Kanagaraj Cinematic Universe). He is also doing the tunes for Suriya’s upcoming film with RJ Balaji, a project that originally had listed AR Rahman as the composer.
There is also a Malayalam film that is confirmed and a Hindi project that is in the works. The endless upcoming projects of Abhay also include director Pradeep Ranganathan’s tentatively titled upcoming film, PR04.
