"I Was Not Deserving": Hrithik Roshan Reminisced About His Initial Days Of His Career

Actor Hrithik Roshan, often called as Bollywood’s Greek God, who is currently in the US for a fan meet-and-greet session, revealed that he would secretly go out for auditions because his father-director, Rakesh Roshan, told him to build his own career without depending on his influence.

While the actor attended an event in New Jersey, he reminisced about his initial journey in the film industry. Are you interested in knowing Hrithik Roshan’s journey of becoming a star? Let’s see.

During his interaction with the audience, Hrithik narrated how he had to take the reins of his career in his hands. He said that his father Rakesh Roshan had told him not to depend upon his director-father and asked him to make his own life. At the beginning, Hrithik thought that he was not deserving, and his dad wouldn’t compromise his works just to make a film for his son. So he went outside for auditions.

He further revealed that since he had no money to pay for photoshoots, he approached his friend Daboo Ratnani to do a photo session, promising his friend that he will pay him off once he became an actor.

He further mentions that he decided to audition for a movie called Ta Ra Rum Pum Pum, helmed by Shekhar Kapur, which had “an amazing script.” However, his father was shocked to learn that and dissuaded Hrithik from doing it. Hrithik believes that his father felt a sense of loss that he would not be the one to launch his son. Hrithik Roshan’s debut film, Kaho Naa… Pyaar Hai, in 2000 was a box office blockbuster and set the record for most awards won by an Indian film.
