The cinematic world of director Vishnu Manchu’s Kannappa is getting fascinated with the unveiling of each of its characters. As the notable characters of the film are set to be portrayed by prominent actors of the industry, the director has introduced another sensational actor to the board today.
Yes, the much-awaited first look of actor Prabhas from the mythological thriller is out now. The Kalki 2898 AD actor, who always aces historic characters, is now taking up the role of Rudra in this film.
The character description of the Rebel star’s Rudra seems quite interesting. The poster reads, “He is the raging storm! The guide through times past and future. He is ruled by Lord Shiva’s command!”

In a never-seen-before avatar, the actor was seen in the guise of a hermit, with matted hair and chandan (sandalwood) smeared on his forehead. He held a crescent moon staff that hints at divine power and celestial energy.

Just like the title, Kannappa, the film revolves around the legend of Kannappa, a staunch devotee of the Hindu God, Shiva. The impressive cinematography of the film will feature locations that hold the untouched natural beauty of New Zealand. This is believed to enhance the film’s mythological essence. Moreover, the production involved a massive crew of around 800 people, including local Maori individuals.
Produced by actor-producer Mohan Babu, Kannappa also stars Mohan Babu, R. Sarathkumar, Arpit Ranka, Kaushal Manda, Rahul Madhav, and Devaraj in supporting roles. The music for this mythological thriller is composed by Stephen Devassy.
