Malayali Composer Hesham Abdul Wahab’s Music Takes Centre Stage At Republic Day Tableau
Malayali composer Hesham Abdul Wahab added yet another proud milestone to his career as music composed by him featured in the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting’s tableau at the 77th Republic Day celebrations.
The moment marked a significant national recognition for the composer, whose work has largely been associated with Malayalam and Telugu cinema.

Speaking to Timeline, Hesham reflected on his journey and the long preparation that went into reaching this stage.
He said that his transition into Hindi cinema began with the song “Aasma Aasma” from the upcoming film Do Deewane Seher Mein, produced by Zee Studios, Rancorp Media, and Bhansali Productions.

The film stars Siddhant Chaturvedi and Mrunal Thakur and is scheduled for release in February. The song, sung by Jubin Nautiyal and Neeti Mohan, was composed, arranged, and produced by Hesham, with lyrics by Abhiruchi Chand.
Hesham revealed that acclaimed filmmaker Sanjay Leela Bhansali personally called him for the project, a moment he described as deeply affirming.
He also credited films like Hridayam and Hi Nanna as turning points in his career, stating that they reshaped how his music was perceived across various industries.
Interestingly, he mentioned that actor Mrunal Thakur had referred him for the Hindi project, further highlighting the organic way the opportunity came together.
Born in Riyadh and hailing from a Malayali family rooted in Alappuzha, Hesham Abdul Wahab has steadily built a reputation as one of the most emotionally resonant composers of his generation.
Trained in both Carnatic and Hindustani classical music and backed by formal education in audio production, he has consistently balanced technical finesse with melody-driven storytelling.
From early works like “Salt Mango Tree” to chart-topping albums such as “Hridayam”, “Kushi”, and “Hi Nanna”, Hesham’s music has found acceptance across languages and regions.
His recent projects span Malayalam, Telugu, Tamil, and now Hindi cinema, alongside acclaimed work for web series like Kerala Crime Files.
