Malayalam cinema’s legendary actor Mohanlal and director Prithviraj’s sequel, L2: Empuraan, is all set to witness an epic launch in theatres shortly. The promotions of the sequel are progressing in full swing, unveiling interesting backstories and theories on the mysterious character. Among the roaring buzz, the friendship of the legends, Mammootty and Mohanlal, has once again won hearts.
The final product of nearly half a decade of hard work, the blood and sweat (as Prithviraj described) L2: Empuraan team, is about to receive the glorious victory tomorrow, March 27. Various personalities of the Indian film fraternity have shared their wishes for the film’s release and success. But among all the other wishes, these words from Mammootty would be special for the makers and the fans.

The two icons share a special friendship for nearly 40 years. The duo has worked together in more than 50 films. Their inspiring tale of friendship is also something that the entire Malayalam film industry and fans cherish a lot.
Recently, Mohanlal also offered special prayers for his friend Mammootty during his Sabarimala visit. Admiring their friendship, Prithviraj also shared that Mammootty, known for his strict household rules, makes an exception only for one person—Mohanlal.
L2: Empuraan, the sequel to the 2019 blockbuster Lucifer, features an ensemble cast with prominent actors. Mohanlal reprises his role as Khureshi-Ab’raam/Stephen Nedumpally, while Prithviraj, Manju Warrier, Tovino Thomas, Indrajith Sukumaran, and Suraj Venjaramoodu lead a star-studded cast. British actor Jerome Flynn, best known for Game of Thrones, adds international appeal to the project.
