Following the immense success of Amazon Prime’s Mirzapur, starring Pankaj Tripathi, Ali Fazal, Divyendu Sharma, Shwetha Tripathi, Vijay Verma, and more, the acclaimed series is all set to make its way on the big screen. That’s right. The Excel Entertainment production will have its official theatrical release in 2026 because “Ab bhaukaal bhi bada hoga, aur parda bhi.”
Created by Puneet Krishna and directed by Gurmmeet Singh, the Mirzapur film will witness the return of the beloved characters Kaleen Bhaiya (Pankaj Tripathi), Guddu Pandit (Ali Fazal), Munna Tripathi (Divyendu Sharma), and Compounder (Abhishek Banerjee).

Singh has previously directed 17 episodes of the crime thriller.
The adaptation is one of the first times an Indian web series is making its way to the big screens.
Reportedly, the film adaptation came through after the success of the show’s third season, which became Amazon Prime Video’s most-watched show in the country during its launch weekend.
The fourth season is expected to release after the film’s release.

The crime thriller is based on the power dynamics within the criminal underworld of India’s northern heartland, Mirzapur. The show rose to popularity thanks to its talented cast, nuanced and memorable characters, and the riveting script with twists and turns.
