Internet Remembers: Netizens Trolls Ranveer Singh For His First Meeting Story With Deepika (image: instagram/ranveersingh)

As Koffee With Karan launches its eighth season, the trolls, gossips and controversies are going to have its course. In the premiere episode, B-town power couple, Deepika Padukone and Ranveer Singh came as guests.

While duo”s conversation is receiving love and affection of the fans, netizens are trolling Mr Singh for  “repurposing” own story. In the episode, the actor narrated his meeting of Ms Padukone for the first time at Director Sanjay Leela Bhansali”s house, and he explained it in detail evoking poetic imageries.

“So I was sitting on the table and the door was on my left. He has these heavy doors and he lives by the seaside. So, these heavy doors open and the gush of wind comes from the sea. There, Deepika enters wearing this white chikankari, hair blowing due to the sea wind just like some sadgi ki moorat. I was like Oh My God!”

When the fans went awe over Mr Singh”s narration, internet unearthed  past Koffee with Karan episode where Mr Singh narrated similar story placing actress and his rumoured-then girfriend Anushka Sharma as the centre of the story. In the episode, actor appeared along with Ms Sharma, and he narrated in detail how he met the actress, including similar details such as opening of heavy doors, and wind flying.

Mr Singh said: “I saw Rab Ne Bana Di Jodi and I was completely mesmerised by Anushka… I go out on dinner with this model and all I could talk about was Anushka.” He, then continued, “The huge doors opened . . . and the wind flies in my face and right in front of me is Anushka Sharma.”

A mash-up of both these stories was made into the internet, and it was overflown with comments trolling the actor.

After dating for quite a while, Ms Padukone and Mr Singh got married in 2018 in a multiday ceremony at Lake Como, Italy, In the premiere episode, they have shared their wedding video first time to the audience.
