Producer Five Star Kathiresan, known for banking blockbuster films like Polladhavan and Aadukalam featuring Dhanush, has raised an accusation against the actor for allegedly not honoring his commitment.

In a letter addressed to RK Selvamani, the president of the Film Employees Federation of South India (FEFSI), Kathiresan expressed his grievances, stating that despite receiving advance, the Raayan actor has not allocated call sheets for the agreed project. The producer mentioned that despite raising the issue in the previous producers’ council, no resolutions had been passed so far.

He further claimed that while the council was in discussions to ensure Dhanush would fulfill his commitments to the production house, RK Selvamani intervened, insisting that the shoot of Dhanush’s fourth directorial must proceed as per the higher order. He further questioned whether the president had forgotten his assurance that justice would be served by October 30.

Call for a Fair Decision Without Political Influence

Expressing his frustration over the political interference within the council, Kathiresan also highlighted the hardships faced by the producers. He urged the Producers’ Council to consider the hardships faced by his team and ensure that the matter is resolved swiftly. Highlighting the struggles of producers in the industry, Kathiresan stated that such delays and unfulfilled commitments place an undue burden on production houses.

The statement urged the Tamil Film Producers’ Association to protect the interests of producers and ensure fair treatment. They emphasised that producers do not pay actors in advance for financial gain but to secure projects, and demanded swift resolution.
