For all fans awaiting the release of Dhanush’s second directorial venture Raayan, a sad news awaits. The release date of the film has been postponed to July.

Being the 50th film, Raayan marks a significant milestone in Dhanush’s acting career. Initially, the film was scheduled to be released on June 13. But as per the announcement made by the actor, the movie will be hitting the theaters on July 27. Notably, the new release date of Raayan comes two days before Dhanush’s 41st birthday. Taking this exciting announcement to X (formerly known as Twitter), the actor wrote “Raayan from July 26th.”

In the poster, the actor can be seen standing in front of a fiery Kaali painting, dressed in black with an intense look. The poster has been released in Tamil, Telugu, Hindi, and Malayalam.

Directed and penned by Dhanush, the movie has grabbed the eyeballs of the audience. According to reports, Dhanush’s ambitious directorial Raayan revolves around a gangster revenge drama set against the backdrop of North Chennai. Dhanush himself plays the lead role of Raayan, a cook at a restaurant situated in North Madras. However, his seemingly ordinary life takes a shocking turn when the mystery behind his past is revealed. The movie also stars Dushara Vijayan, who will be playing the female lead opposite Dhanush. The movie was filmed in Chennai and Karakudi.

The revenge drama was produced by Kalanithi Maran under Sun Pictures, one of the prominent production houses of Kollywood. The music has been masterly crafted by AR Rahman. The film has also raised its bar with an exceptional cast including Selvaraghavan, SJ Suryah, Prakash Raj, Jayaram, Kaalidas Jayaram, Aparna Balamurali, Varalaxmi Sarathkumar, Saravanan, and many others.
