Saiju Kurup's 'Harivarasanam' Launched As Kerala's First 'Toofan Warriors' Film: Ramesh Chennithala Inaugurates

The Malayalam film “Harivarasanam” officially began its production with a traditional pooja ceremony held today at Chitranjali Studio.

The film, starring Saiju Kurup in the lead role, marked its launch with the entire cast and crew being honoured as “Toofan Warriors” during the event.

The program was inaugurated by senior political leader Ramesh Chennithala, who lit the ceremonial lamp.

During the event, key members of the film’s team, including the lead actor Saiju Kurup, director Rajesh Nair, producers Ajith Vinayaka and Sharath Vinayaka, writer Dr K. Ambadi, actress Sitara Vijayan, cinematographer Sajad Kakku, and art director Rakhil, received special “Toofan Warrior” badges.

The pooja was held on a specially constructed Sabarimala set inside Chitranjali Studio, including a replica of the 18 sacred steps. The event was attended by government officials, police representatives, film industry guests, and technical crew members.

The makers stated that the film carries a strong social message promoting a drug-free film set and aims to spread awareness about the importance of responsible cinema production. They also highlighted the role of the film industry in supporting anti-drug campaigns.

Produced under the banner of Vinayaka Ajith Films, the movie is backed by Vinayaka Ajith. Director Rajesh Nair returns after films like Salt Mango Tree and Thrissur Pooram.

The screenplay is written by Dr K. Ambadi, while music is composed by Ranjin Raj, known for Maalikappuram.

The film’s technical crew includes R Jayachandran (project designer), Sajad Kakku (DOP), Ajish Edamann (editor), Sasi Pothuval (production controller), Rakil (production designer), Stephy Xavier (costume design), Parthan C (chief associate director), Hassan Vandoor (makeup), Nidheesh (associate director), Pratheesh Shekar (PRO) and Jefin Bijoy (stills).
