Action star Akshay Kumar has stepped into the shoes of actor Suriya with his film Sarfira, the official Hindi remake of the Kollywood blockbuster Soorarai Pottru (2020). Blending drama, hope, and a power-packed cast, the makers have dropped the gripping trailer today. Interestingly, the trailer hinted at the surprise cameo role of actor Suriya. Sarfira is set to hit the screens on July 12, this year.

The prolific actor shared the teaser of the inspirational movie on his official X handle. Inspired from Dr. Abdul Kalam’s famous quote, he wrote, “Sapne woh nahi jo aap sote huye dekhte hain, sapne woh hote hain jo aapko sone hi nahi dete. Ek aise hi sapne ki kahani hai Sarfira (Dream is not that which you see while sleeping it is something that does not let you sleep. Sarfira is a story of one such dream).”

Sarfira, the directorial endeavor of Sudha Kongara, narrates the common man’s aspirations, bridging the gap between social classes and embodying the spirit of turning one’s dreams into reality. Kongara said, “‘Sarfira is a story that speaks to the dreamer in all of us.”
The directorial venture has been jointly produced by Aruna Bhatia and Vikram Malhotra’s Abundantia Entertainment, Jyothika and Suriya’s 2D Entertainment, and Akshay’s Cape Of Good Films.
Speaking of his journey in the film, Akshay shared, “This film is very close to my heart. Sarfira is not just about reaching for the skies; it’s about breaking barriers, defying all odds, and believing in yourself when the world calls you crazy.
