Vijay Sethupathi-Soori's 'Viduthalai Part 2' To Storm Theaters On This Date (Image-X/VijaySethuOffl)
Vijay Sethupathi announced the date for his next hundred crore club, with the makers of the acclaimed sequel Viduthalai Part 2 finally unveiling the release date.
With Makkal Selvan and the box office-storming hero Soori on board, director Vetrimaaran has set his path to the grand release of of the sequel. Finally unveiling the release date, the makers have called out the audience to mark their calendars as the sequel is about to storm the theaters on December 20.

Announcing this major update, the Maharaja actor on X wrote “Mark your calendars! Maverick director VetriMaaran’s ViduthalaiPart2 is coming to theatres on December 20, 2024.”

The poster depicts the theme of the sequel, the protest and its unrest against the brutality of police. The update features protesting hands with shades of maroon, emphasizing a vintage look. Moreover, the announcement poster has been released in Tamil, English, and Kannada.
Both the actors have contributed their excellent performances to the Tamil cinema this year. Vijay blasted the box office with his release Maharaja and crowned himself with a Rs.107 crore collection worldwide. Actor Soori on his part had two major releases this year with Garudan and the recent release Kottukkaali, which is witnessing a hike in the box office.

Apart from this duo, the project also has actress Manju Warrier on board, intended to explore the love and the valor chapters of the celebrated character Vaathiyaar. As per the posters released by the team so far, the sequel is expected to dig deep into the pages of Vaathiyaar, which might be filled with love, rage, valor, and protest.
Viduthalai: Part 2 features the same cast as Vijay Sethupathi, Soori, Manju Warrier, Gautham Vasudev Menon, Kishore, Rajiv Menon, and others in important roles. Produced by Grass Root Film Company and RS Infotainment, the music has been scored by Maestro Illaiyaraaja. R. Velraj has been tasked with the film’s cinematography, with Ramar handling the editing process.
