Robert Downey Jr. has returned to the MCU (Marvel Cinematic Universe) for the newly titled Avengers: Doomsday as fantastic Four Villain Doctor Doom which will be released in May 2026. The actor announced his return to the MCU On Saturday during the Marvel’s panel at San Diego Comic-Con. His return is celebrated worldwide as he bids adieu to the MCU and his best-loved character Tony Stark.

Robert Downey Jr. declared that he wouldn’t reprise Iron Man but would be portrayed as Doctor Doom Character. The upcoming Avengers is set for its directorial by the Russo Brothers along with another fantastic thriller ‘Secret wars which will be released in 2027. They stated that even if he plays a new role the notion remains the same as he would create the possible cinematic experience for all the film enthusiasts. Marvel fans and followers are thirstily waiting to watch their hero playing an epic role anticipating enthralling battles and what the MCU grandeur could offer.

Robert Downey Jr. the 59-year-old actor who played a snarky hero role until his wrenching death in 2019 has grabbed the eyes of the spectators and the hearts of many. Social media has flooded with posts and comments as they welcome his return for the next Avengers movie to play the villainous Dr. Doom instead of the idolized Iron Man.
