Thiruvananthapuram, Kerala: Covid-19 is making a comeback with an alarming number of cases in India, a total of 7383, as per the latest data from the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare. Kerala remains one of the hotspots of the pandemic in India, with a frightening five fatalities in the last 24 hours. Around 2007 people are currently receiving treatment for Covid-related complications in the state.

A total of ten persons have died of the pandemic across the country due to the pandemic in the last 24 hours. Several states have instructed hospitals to ensure the availability of beds, oxygen, cylinders, testing kits, and vaccines in view of the rising cases. Notably, compared to previous days, the surge in the number of cases in the country appears manageable.

Neighboring Karnataka has also reported a high spike in the number of active cases, recording a single-day of 132 active cases on Saturday, followed by Gujarat (79), Kerala (54) and Madhya Pradesh (20). States such as Sikkim, Tamil Nadu and Haryana also saw an uptick in the active number of Covid cases in the past 24 hours.

However, states such as Arunachal Pradesh, Chandigarh, Ladakh, Mizoram, Punjab and West Bengal have not reported any cold cases during this period.

In Kerala, due to the monsoon arrival, high fewer rates have been reported, raising fears of a potential spike in Covid-19. The government has asked the elderly and those with underlying medical conditions to wear masks when going to crowd locations and follow CUD guidelines.

The common symptoms of the pandemic include fever, runny nose, sore throat, headache, and fatigue, which sometimes become difficult to identify. Testing for the pandemic when patients notice such symptoms is crucial to dealing with the disease.
