60% Of Seats To Be Free Of Charge: India's Aviation Ministry To Curb Arbitrary Pricing, Improve Booking Fairness
India’s aviation ministry has decided to bring about sweeping reformation aiming at curbing arbitrary pricing and improving more transparent, accessible and hassle-free air travel.
As per the proposal, Airlines will now have to ensure that a minimum 60% of seats are available free of charge, which is expected to to address long-standing pain points around baggage and passenger rights.

Families can sit together, with passengers on the same PNR to be seated together, preferably adjacent.
The Airlines will also have to bring about clear policies for carrying sports gear, musical instruments and pets, ending the opacity that often leaves travellers guessing.
