Abhishek Banerjee's PA Sumit Roy Arrested In West Bengal Land Grab Case
Kolkata, West Bengal: Criminal Investigation Department (CID) arrested Trinamool Congress leader Abhishek Banerjee’s personal assistant Sumit Roy in Salboni land grab case on Thursday, September 10. The arrest follows the Supreme Court refusal to grant him anticipatory bail to the TMC worker.
The state-level law enforcement authority took Roy into custody as he is facing several charges in the Salboni land grab case, where government land was allegedly sold as private property with proceeds going to a TMC account. The Supreme Court earlier rejected Roy’s anticipatory bail and vacated an earlier stay, following the Calcutta High Court’s denial on August 3.
