Writer-activist Meena Kandaswamy who has always been vocal about injustices across the world raised some highly charged points regarding the atrocities of Israel. She wrote on X that the incident that occurred in Lebanon made the world realize that “Israel war machinery and terrorists state” does not adhere to any “rules of combat, human rights law, morality in conflict”.
What has happened in Lebanon yesterday (pagers being made to explode remotely by Israel) and today (household electronic items randomly remotely made to explode walkie talkies exploding) — has to be a watershed moment for us to realise the genocidal insane nature of the Israeli…

She further highlighted how big brands and techs make a huge fuss in the market if someone is found “selling knockoffs or infringing” their items, meanwhile, they have not responded to the recent tragic issue. Kandaswamy questioning the failure of the brands to track the explosives in their product, asked, “What were they all doing when their multiple devices or consumer durables of their brands got compromised? How could this have been anything other than a large scale operation and why were the brands unable to even keep checks?”
Kandaswamy backlashed the companies for not responding even after their products were compromised resulting in the death of many.
However, she wrote that history has taught that capitalism has always managed to sustain its immeasurable infinite greed only through warmongering.
“Big businesses stood on the side of the Nazis in the second world war, they’ll possibly stand on Israel’s side now.”
Kandaswamy concluded her post by reminding the corporates that their “neutrality, claims of perfection promises of safety” will all be reduced to “emptiness if they do not clean up and investigate and prevent their products from being compromised and used for a terrorist endeavour”.

But if they continue to remain silent, Kandaswamy cautions the Big Tech companies that people’s movement, resistance organizations and the whole world will begin thinking of alternative ways.
“Were they to remain silence (I suspect they will), people’s movements, resistance organisations and the world at large will have to think of alternative ways of reimagining their relationships with Big Tech”.
