A family consists of five members including two women were allegedly attacked by staffs at the the popular Grand Hotel in Abids, Hyderabad following an argument concerning served food”s quality. A video of the incident where staffs attacking the family with pipes, and sticks are viral on social media.

The incident happened on New Year Eve when the family went to the Grand Hotel for Dinner. They ordered Biriyani, and when it was served customers expressed that the food was not properly cooked. When the customers asked to replace the food, the staff took the food, reheated it and served again, the family says. Dissatisfied over the food, the family refused to pay the bill which resulted in arguments, following the attack and abuse. The staffs attacked the customers with pipes, sticks and chairs causing injuries.

Abids police filed a case and two people were taken into custody. A First Information Report (FIR) has been lodged under Sections 324 (voluntarily causing hurt by dangerous weapon or means), 504 (intentional insult with intent to provoke breach of peace), and 509 (Word, gesture or act intended to insult the modesty of a woman) of the Indian Penal Code (IPC).

“The clash took place between a group of customers and the hotel staff. The customers complained about food and stated they would not pay as their complaint was not resolved,” Times Now quotes as T Narasimha Raju, Station House Office is saying.
