BJP Pulled Out Spokespersons From Parliament Security Breach TV Debates To Remain 'Silent': Report

Many wonder why the BJP is silent over the parliament security breach which took place on Wednesday, taking everyone by surprise. The topic had become a burning topic of discussion for almost every political party and across the newsroom in the country. However, according to a report by The Indian Express, many BJP leaders had agreed to take part in channel discussions. But despite having agreed to participate in debates, many BJP stockpersons and party advocates were later retreated from the show, after they were instructed by the party not to participate in TV shows.

With the political atmosphere of the country becoming heated by Wednesday’s security breach in the parliament, it is believed that the BJP kept silent because of the revelation that the entry pass to the accused was given by the party”s representative.

The BJP MP Pratap Simha whose visitor was used by one of the intruders had said that the father of that intruder, Sagar Sharma was a resident of his constituency and had asked for a visitor pass to see the new parliament. He also said he was constantly in touch with his office, and personal assistant so that Sagar Sharma could visit Parliament. He asserted he had no information other than this, Indian Today reported.

However, BJP had on Thursday accused Congress and communist allies for the breach in the parliament, amid the INDIA alliance calling for action against the BJP MP who issued a pass to the intruder.

The national convenor of BJP IT cell Amit Malviya had taken to X with a post accusing the congress and communit axis of the parliament security breach.  “As details emerge, it is getting obvious that the DNA of those, who breached Parliament security, is inextricably linked to the Congress-Communist axis. The kids who were part of Rahul Gandhi”s Bharat Jodo Yatra and active participants in the orchestrated protests seen in the past,” the post reads.

He had also accused Trinamool Congress (TMC) of a link with the parliament intruder. which the party denied.

The Congress, however, accused the BJP IT cell of diverting attention from the parliament security breach. Congress general secretary Jairam Ramesh demanded the home minister to give an official statement over the security breach.  “BJP is silent on the role of its Mysore MP Pratap Simha and is trying to divert attention from it…All opposition parties want the Home Minister to come and give a statement and after that, the House will function,” Jairam said to the news agency AIN.
