CJP Holds Second Major Protest At Jantar Mantar, Founder Urges Supporters To Bring Plates & Spoons

Heavy security arrangements were put in place across New Delhi on Saturday as the Cockroach Janta Party (CJP) held its second major protest at Jantar Mantar, with founder Abhijeet Dipke urging supporters to participate by bringing plates and spoons as a symbolic mark of protest.

The demonstration, scheduled to begin at 1 pm, is part of the party’s ongoing campaign over alleged examination irregularities and demands for accountability in the education sector.

Supporters from Delhi and neighbouring states gathered at the protest site amid heightened security.

Ahead of the event, Dipke appealed to participants through social media and public messages, asking them to carry plates and spoons to amplify their voices and draw attention to the concerns of students and youth.

Delhi Police deployed extensive security measures around Jantar Mantar and adjoining areas. CCTV cameras were installed at the venue, while nearly 270 body-worn cameras were issued to police personnel to monitor the gathering and maintain transparency.

Police videographers were also stationed at the protest site to record developments.

Multiple layers of barricades were erected around central Delhi, and security checks were intensified at key entry and exit points across the city.

Senior police officials were assigned field duties to oversee arrangements, while reserve forces remained on standby to respond to any untoward incidents. Authorities said permission had been granted for the protest and appealed to demonstrators to maintain peace.

The Special Branch kept a close watch on developments at the venue and monitored related activity on social media platforms.

Security was also strengthened at major transport hubs, including the Indira Gandhi International Airport, railway stations, interstate bus terminals and border points.

The protest comes days after Dipke was allegedly attacked during a demonstration in Jaipur on June 15.

Despite the incident, he has vowed to continue the movement and recently announced plans for a march to Delhi as part of the campaign.
