Congress To Kick Off Mega Campaign For 2024 Election; Sonia, Kharge To Attend

Kickstarting the poll bugle for the 2024 Lok Sabha election, the Indian National Congress is all set to conduct a mega rally titled ‘Hain Tayyar Hum’ (we are ready) in Maharashtra”s Nagpur city on Thursday. The event will be marked by the presence of prominent Congress leaders such as the former president of the Congress party Sonia Gandhi, current president Mallikarjun Kharge and general secretary Priyanka Gandhi. State congress chiefs and the three chief ministers will also attend the event.

Addressing a press conference at the event venue in Maharashtra, Maharashtra Congress chief Nana Patole said that the program will be a “historic moment” for the people of the country.

According to Patole, around 200,000 people would attend the programs, and he said that the Congress is resolute in providing employment and solving the farmer”s woes.

The program’s location will be Nagpur, the headquarters of the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh and the place where Dr BR Ambedkar accepted Buddhism.

“Whenever the country faced trouble, the Congress pitched in and a big change took place in the country,” Patole told media at the press conference.

Patole also spoke about Rahul Gandhi’s recently announced “Bharat Nyay Yatra” from Manipur to Mumbai. Reminding Indira Gandhi’s public meeting in Nagpur after the national emergency and the subsequent victory for the party from Vidarbha, Patole said “History will repeat in Nagpur and a big “parivartan” (change) will take place in the country.”

According to the congress MLA Raut, the party chose Nagpur for its ideological importance as the place clashes with two ideologies – the ideology of RSS and the ideology of Ambedkar.  The public, according to Raut will certainly go along with the slogans of the Congress party
