As the Tirupati Laddu controversy is under the legal scrutiny, a day after the Supreme Court questioned the Andhra Pradesh CM Chandrababu Naidu over the allegation on the possible adulteration of Tirupati prasadam, the Deputy Chief Minister Pawan Kalyan asserted on Tuesday that the Supreme Court didn’t say it was unadulterated.
Commenting on the progression of the case, the actor politician said that the court never said that it was not adulterated. They commented on whatever information they had on their hands. Supreme Court judges didn’t say that it was unadulterated, they said that there was confusion regarding the date which would be cleared.

The deputy chief minister also added that the government would investigate the violation happened in the last 5 years. He also emphasised that it is not just about the prasad issue.
The Tirupati Laddu issue has been making round for quite a long time, and a Special Investigation Team constituted by the Andhra Pradesh government to probe the allegation and it has been stopped by the Supreme Court until the next order. The SIT has so far only tried to understand the procurement process, bidding, terms and conditions, and the specifications of the quality of ghee demanded by the Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams (TTD), which runs the temple.
However, the top court questioned Chandrababu Naidu over their claim focused on the previous YS Jegan Mohan Reddy government and slammed them saying that there was nothing prima facie to prove that contaminated ghee was used to make laddus at Tirupati temple. “expected Gods to be kept away from politics”.

“It is very clear from the report that this is not the ghee which has been used. Unless you are sure, how did you go into public with that?” a bench of Justices BR Gavai and KV Viswanathan said.
The controversy erupted after Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu, citing a lab report, claimed the presence of beef tallow, lard (relating to pig fat), and fish oil in the ghee used to make the laddus during the previous YSRCP regime. Former Chief Minister Jagan Mohan Reddy, however, refuted the allegations.
