Cruelty Over Interfaith Relationship: UP Girl Strangled To Death By Brothers, Thrown To Canal

Knowing their sister’s relationship with a man from another community, two men, Sufiyan from Roorkee in Uttarakhand and his uncle”s son Mahtab from Muzaffarnagar took their sister Sheeba near the Ghaziabad canal In Uttar Pradesh and choked her to death there. Though the clothes, sandals and the Gamcha which were used to kill her, according to the accused, have been recovered from the canal, the girl’s body has not been found yet.

The incident came to the public during random police check on Saturday evening. When the Police spotted two men roaming around suspiciously in Muradnagar, the cops questioned them and their answers raised further suspicion in the police. According to reports, the duo disclosed to police that they choked their sister to death with ‘Gamachha’ and threw the body into the Ganganahar canal.

The two men have been taken into custody for questioning and a team from the National Disaster Response Force (NDRF) along with local divers have been searching the canal to find the body of the girl.
