Farmers Protest: Delhi Traffic Police Issues Advisory

In anticipation of the farmers” protest scheduled at various borders of Delhi from February 13, 2024, the Delhi Traffic Police has issued a detailed advisory outlining traffic restrictions and diversions for commuters.

According to the advisory, traffic restrictions and diversions will be implemented for commercial vehicles from February 12, 2024. Furthermore, starting from February 13, 2024, Singhu Border will witness traffic restrictions and diversions for all types of vehicles.

The advisory provides specific diversion routes for vehicles intending to travel towards Panipat, Karnal, Sonipat, Bahadurgarh, Rohtak, and other destinations. Routes for interstate buses, heavy goods vehicles (HGVs), cars, and light goods vehicles (LGVs) have been meticulously outlined to ensure smooth traffic flow while avoiding areas of potential congestion.

For commuters traveling to Ghaziabad through Gazipur border, alternative routes via Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav have been suggested to mitigate traffic disruptions.

Additionally, heavy/commercial vehicles/trucks intending to travel towards Bahadurgarh, Rohtak, etc., via Rohtak Road have been advised to use Najafgarh Nangloi Road for entry into Haryana.

Motorists are urged to plan their journeys in advance, adhere to the advisory, and cooperate with the authorities to ensure the smooth functioning of traffic operations during the farmers” protest.

Hours ago, in anticipation of the scheduled farmers’ march, at the borders of Haryana, Punjab, and Delhi, the Chandigarh Administration has taken precautionary measures by imposing Section 144 Cr.P.C. The administration has banned gatherings of five or more people, processions, demonstrations, and the carrying of sticks or weapons for a period of 60 days.
