Maharashtra experienced severe rainfall over 24 hours which led to significant flooding and disruption in several areas. The continuous downpour has led to disruption at Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj International Airport, affecting the flight operations.
The poor visibility had led to a brief suspension of flight operations at 10:36 am. It was later resumed at 10:55 am after visibility was recorded at 1000 meters and Runway Visual Range (RVR) at 1200 meters.

Several airlines had issued travel advisory via social media, informing passengers that flights to and from Mumbai could be delayed due to the severe weather.
Air India said, “flights to and from Mumbai may get affected due to heavy rains. Guests are advised to start early for the airport, as slow traffic and waterlogging may delay movement”.

Indigo too has cautioned the travellers about the potential delays and advised them to check their flight status before heading to the airport.

Waterlogging has resulted in the closure of the Andheri subway to vehicular traffic and caused congestion on the roads.
The Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) in Mumbai has issued a yellow alert, predicting moderate rainfall to heavy rainfall and isolated heavy rain in some regions. The nowcast warning was issued at 10:00 am. Intense spells of rain are expected in Thane, Raigad and the Ghat regions of Pune over the next few hours.

The heavy rainfall has also affected the railway services, with the Panvel-Chouk line suspended since 9:42 am due to flooding. Thus, Train No.12126 has been rerouted to operate via Kalyan.
