In Kanpur, Uttar Pradesh, a young man has allegedly died by hanging himself at his home. The man, identified as Sunil Rajput, worked as a vegetable vendor.

Sunil, who earned his livelihood as a vegetable vendor, had shared two videos on social media. In one video, he accused the station in-charge and a constable of harassing him, alleging that their actions had driven him to take his own life. The other video featured Sunil expressing remorse to his family.

In what is being termed as his purported final statement, Sunil accused two police officers, including UP police sub-inspector Satendra Kumar, of subjecting him to harassment. He claimed that these officers would take vegetables for free and took money from him on multiple occasions.

In a heart-wrenching moment captured in one of the videos, Sunil can be seen with a noose around his neck, apologising to his parents before the alleged act. “Mummy humein maaf kardein, theek hai.. Papa toh..,” he said.

After receiving information about the incident, the police arrived at his home and began their investigation. A forensic team also collected evidence, and the body was sent for a post-mortem examination.

The two videos triggered a storm on social media platforms. However, as of now, there are no reports indicating any action taken against the officers implicated by Sunil in his recordings.
