The Mumbai Police have issued a lookout notice against Mihir Shah, son of Shiv Sena (Eknath Shinde) leader Rajesh Shah, the key accused in a hit-and-run case that killed a woman on Sunday.

Reportedly, a team of six has been created to search for the 24-year-old, who was allegedly driving the BMW during the incident in Worli. With a LoC issued against Mihir, he cannot travel out of the country from airports or ports and can be detained by immigration personnel if an attempt to escape is made.

Hours after the accident, party leader Rajesh Shah and his driver, Rajendra Singh, were arrested for allegedly aiding Mihir Shah.

According to reports, CCTV footage shows Mihir leaving a Juhu pub in a Mercedes car with four of his friends. The accused later changed his car and was seen driving the BMW with his driver in the passenger seat, as per the police.

The police have been reportedly questioning Mihir’s girlfriend on the suspicion that she may have helped in hiding him after the accident.

The victim, identified as 45-year-old Kaveri Nakhwa, was travelling with her husband Pradip from Colaba’s Sassoon Dock on their way home in Worli when the BMW hit the couple’s two-wheeler around 5:30 am. Kaveri crashed on the bonnet of the car, but the driver continued to drive for about 100 metres and fled the scene.

While Pradip suffered minor injuries, his wife was declared dead in the hospital.
