Ajay Bose, in his application, requested information such as the name of the tea stall at Vadnagar for which PM Modi used to sell tea; was he a licensed vendor during his childhood days; if so, what was his vendor license number or billa number; and details of the name and designation of the railway authority that issued the vendor license to PM Modi to sell tea at the station.

On September 19, Western Railway gave response to Bose’s application. To the questions lodged, Railway replied this, “The information sought by you is related to very old records, which are not available in this office. Therefore, it is not possible to provide required information in the absence of records.”

He shared the RTI reply on social media along with a post read, “This RTI reply from @WesternRly Ahmedabad Div raises Questions than Answer to whether PM Narendra Modi was Chaiwala during his childhood days or not.”
