Owaisi Slams Yogi Adityanath's 'DNA Remark' Connecting Ayodhya, Sambhal And Bangladesh

Uttar Pradesh: “God forbid no one understands anything,” All India Majlis-E-Ittehadul Muslimeen (AIMIM) chief Asaduddin Owaisi wonders how injustice happens despite the truth being crystal clear regarding the claims made over Masjids by the Hindutva group in India. The Hyderabad MP on Tuesday shared a speech delivered by Uttar Pradesh chief minister Yogi Adityanath, which saw the BJP leader connecting Ayodhya, Sambhal, and the ongoing violence in Bangladesh, suggesting that behind all these are the people of the same DNA.

Noting that truth has no value in “Baba’s shop,” Owaisi reminded the Supreme Court itself accepted that there is no evidence that the Babri Masjid was built by demolishing a temple.

Owaisi then highlighted that the case of Sambhal was also over in 1877-79, and the courts had clearly stated that the Jama Masjid of Sambhal is a mosque and there is no temple there, nor is worship performed. He added that just because the truth has no value for the chief minister, it does not mean that all should quietly believe in his words.

“This statement makes it clear that these cases of converting mosques into temples are “sponsored by the BJP,” Owaisi wrote, underscoring that when a case is going on in the court, no one has the right to influence it from outside. Notably, following the Sambhal violence that led to the killing of four, the opposition had alleged the ruling BJP failed to handle the situation by fueling religious sentiment

During the Babari judgement, the Supreme Court had stated that there wasn’t enough evidence to say that a temple was razed to build the Babri Masjid, admitting that the demolition of the Masjid was illegal and violated the law.

The Sambhal masjid row has been spewing tensions following the killing of four people in alleged police firing when the survey team, along with members of the Hindutva group, arrived at the Majid premises. Hundreds had gathered around the masjid to protest the survey, leading to the clash and killing of at least four Muslim youths.

Since then, tension has persisted in the region, and the authorities have denied entry for outsiders, including the opposition leader Rahul Gandhi, MPs, and MLAs. The opposition parties, including Congress and the Samajwadi Party, have alleged the government’s failure in handling the situation, noting that the ruling BJP is now trying to hide the truth by not allowing them to visit the violence-hit Sambhal district.
