Premium Petrol Price Hiked By Rs 11 Per Litre

New Delhi: The premium petrol price has been hiked in Delhi, as the volatility in global energy markets continues amid the ongoing US-Iran conflict. The cost of premium petrol now stands at Rs 11 per litre, increasing from to Rs 160 from Rs 149 earlier.

The oil marketing companies (OMCs) has increased IndianOil’s XP100 petrol, India’s first 100-octane premium fuel, which is primarily used in luxury cars and superbikes, where higher octane levels help improve engine efficiency and performance.

The prices of commercial LPG cylinders have also been revised, witnessing a significant increase across key cities amid the ongoing fuel crisis. In the capital city, Delhi, the price of a 19 kg commercial LPG cylinder has been increased to Rs 2,078.50, marking a rise of Rs 195.50. The 5 kg FT cylinder is now priced at Rs 549 per refill.

Premium diesel prices were also hiked, with the fuel retail price now at Rs 92.99 per litre, up from Rs 91.49 earlier.

The move is being believed to be due to crude oil price shortage and rising logistics costs in the backdrop of geopolitical tensions in the Middle East.
