Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath enters into the Sanatana Dharma row after commenting that Sanatana Dharma is the only religion and rest all are sects and methods of worship. His remarks came during the concluding session of the “Shrimad Bhagwat Katha Gyan Yagya”, held at the Gorakhnath Temple.

He stated that Sanatana Dharma is the religion of humanity and if anyone tries to attack, then there will be a crisis of humanity across the globe, reports ANI.

His comments came in amid the Sanatana row. Tamil Nadu Minister Udhayanidhi Stalin’s controversial remark on Santana had led to huge political debate.

The Uttar Pradesh chief minister then stressed the importance of having an open mindset to understand the essence of Shrimad Bhagwat’s narrow-minded perspectives and struggle to comprehend its vastness.

“The story of Bhagwat is boundless and cannot be confined to specific days or hours. It flows endlessly, and devotees continuously absorb its essence into their lives,” he added.

Earlier on Monday, he also stated that it is the saint’s priority to look after the needs of the country and society taking the example of Mahant Digvijaynath. He added that Mahant Digvijaynath belonged to the Rana clan of Mewar, Rajasthan, who dedicated his life to the motherland while fighting for the self-respect of the country.

Meanwhile, the Vishwa Hindu Parishad (VHP) delegation met Tamil Nadu Governor R N Ravi on Wednesday and submitted a memorandum against Udhayanidhi’s remark. They have urged the governor to remove the ministers who have attended the anti-Sanatana Darma Conference from the Council of Ministers as they have violated their oath.

The seven-day “Shrimad Bhagwat Katha Gyan Yagya” event was held in the remembrance of 54th death anniversary of Mahant Digvijay Nath and the 9th death anniversary of the national saint Mahant Avaidyanath.
