Shiv Sena MP Seeks Centre's Urgent Intervention Into AI Apps Being Prompted To sexualize, Undress Women On Social Media

New Delhi: Shiv Sena Rajya Sabha MP Priyanka Chaturvedi on Friday, January 2, demanded the government’s attention to the issue of increasing incidents of AI apps being prompted to sexualize and undress women by unauthorised use of their images on social media.

In a social media post, the Shiv Sena leader sought the Electronics and Information Technology (IT) minister Ashwini Vaishnaw to take the matter seriously, while sharing the letter she wrote to the minister seeking immediate intervention.

“There have to be guardrails put in place for features such as Grok that do not violate women’s dignity, big tech firms need to take the onus,” Chaturvedi wrote, adding that she wishes men indulging in such behavior were educated better at their homes & schools to not become such sick perverts in their adulthood.

The MP also shared the letter she wrote to the Union Minister, declaring that the proliferation of such demeaning acts should never be allowed in the country.
