After the attack by the BJP workers on Bharat Jodo Nyaya Yatra in Assam, there has been a spate of arguments between the Congress leader and Karnataka chief minister Siddaramaiah and the Assam Chief minister Himanta Biswa Sarma
Responding to the Assam chief minister’s comment for Siddaramaiah”s social media post on the attacks against the Bharat Jodo Nyaya Yatra, the Karnataka chief minister said that focusing on the number of people who attended the rally is not the point. “Even if it were only Shri Rahul Gandhi, the question remains: Why the need for such anti-constitutional actions to stop him? Are you scared of him?” the chief minister asked.
Shri @himantabiswa avare,
Focusing on numbers misses the point. Even if it were only Shri Rahul Gandhi, the question remains: Why the need for such anti-constitutional actions to stop him? Are you scared of him? Or Does the shadow of corruption allegations still linger,… https://t.co/pYYtaZLN6l

Sharing Siddaramaiah’s post on his social media platform X, Assam chief minister Himanta Biswa yesterday mocked the Siddaramaiah’s remarks that over 50,000 people of the Yatra were stopped at the Guwahati”s border, saying that not even 2,000 people came to see him at one place throughout the 500 or more-kilometre journey. Himanta Biswa in his post had also advised the Karnataka chief minister to watch the video he posted and count the number.
In his response to the Himanta Biswa, Siddaramaiah further noted that Assam deserves a leader who champions its rich language, culture, and history, not one who succumbs to party pressure like you. “It”s time to prioritize the rights and identity of Assam over party lines.”
Stressing the importance of the regional culture and its preservation, Siddaramaiah urged people to look at Karnataka and Telangana, noting that the Congress is upholding regional interests within the Indian framework and embodying true unity in diversity. “It”s about principles and courage to stand for what”s right. Congress will continue to fight for justice everywhere,” the Karnataka chief minister added.
The Congress had alleged that the BJP workers attacked the rally when it re-entered Assam from Arunachal Pradesh to finish the rest of the scheduled areas. The Congress leader Rahul Gandhi had alleged that at least 20 to 25 BJP workers with sticks in their hands came In front of the Bharat Jodo Nyaya Yatra vehicle. Besides, the congress general secretary Jairam Ramesh’s vehicle was also attacked by the BJP goons, while the media professionals covering the Yatra were manhandled, times of India reported.
Siddaramaiah had reacted to the obstacles faced by the Bharat Jodo Nyaya Yatra in Assam saying the Assam chief minister is taking extreme measures to prevent Rahul Gandhi’s Yatra.
Assam CM Himanta Biswa Sharma”s extreme measures to halt Shri @RahulGandhi“s Yatra reveal his fear.
