The parents claimed that students were wearing saffron costumes as part of a 21-day special religious practice. However, the school authorities informed that the principal Jaimon Joseph, had only asked the students to bring their parents since he observed that they were not wearing the uniforms.
The issue got spiraled when video footage got shared on social media alleging that the principal was not allowing to wear students religious dress in the school campus. Following, a saffron clad mob chanting “Jai Shri Ram” attacked the school by breaking the glass windows, and flower pots. Video footages of protestors pelting stones at a statue of Mother Teresa have also came up. The protesters attacked principal Joseph as well.
As the violence got intensified, Police tried to control the situation and were seen removing the angry protestors from the school campus. Meanwhile, the school authorities have also filed complaint with local police, but no arrests have made yet.
