Bareilly, Uttar Pradesh: A mob of Bajrang Dal stormed a café in Uttar Pradesh’s Bareilly on Saturday, December 27, and assaulted two Muslim boys accused of Love Jihad. The boys were attending their friend’s birthday party when the right-wing group members barged into the shop.

“They tried to harass and snatch my phone. Most of the guests were Hindu and there were only two Muslim friends,” the girl said, Times of India quoted.

The right-wing group stormed the shop and attacked the event over the presence of two boys of the Muslim faith.  The gathering of six girls and four boys—including two Muslim males—drew a crowd wearing saffron scarves who shouted accusations. Notably, Bareilly police are now facing criticism for taking action against the Muslim boys, the victims.

The police, instead of acting on people disrupting the event, were seen harassing the boys, issuing challan to the Muslim boys and the café staff for breach of peace.
