UP: Right Wing Group Storms Girl's B'day Party Over Muslim Boys' Presence; Police Challan Victims: Report

Bareilly, Uttar Pradesh: The Uttar Pradesh police on Saturday, December 27, challaned two Muslim boys for purported ‘breach of peace’ by attending their friend’s b’day party in Bareilly. Notably, the event, which was held in a café, was reportedly disrupted by members of a right-wing group storming the shop over the presence of two boys of the Muslim faith.

However, police, instead of acting on people disrupting the event, were seen harassing the boys. The officials challaned the Muslim boys and the café staff for breach of peace, according to a post by journalist, Piyush Rai.

The Bareilly Police today, December 28 responded to the journalist’s post, stating, “On 27.12.25, during a birthday party at a cafe located in Premnagar police station, the police arrived at the scene upon receiving information, and no objectionable or illegal activity was found,” adding that it took preventive action against the concerned individuals under Sections 170/126/135 of the BNSS to maintain peace and order.

The journalist posted another video against the response by the police, stating that the people should ask against whom the FIR has been registered, adding that it would of course be against the victims. As a journalist, “you should not assume the very obvious, especially while reporting in Uttar Prades,” Piyush wrote on X while posting his video.
