On Friday, the Delhi police arrested three people for allegedly entering Parliament with fake Aadhar cards. The three were caught by the Central Industrial Security Force (CISF) at the Parliament’s flap gate entry, according to reports.

The three accused – Kasim, Monis, and Soyeb – were arrested on accounts of forgery and cheating. The Delhi Police filed an FIR, which states that while verifying photo IDs at iron gate number 3 of the Parliament House on June 4, CISF personnel found the three workers attempting to enter the area with casual entry passes, according to The New Indian Express.

Upon further checking, the security personnel found the Aadhaar cards to be forged. Following the complaint made by the CISF official, the Delhi police lodged a case and arrested the three accused, who remain in custody for further questioning.

Contract labourers by profession, the three had been working on the construction of the MP’s lounge inside the Parliament complex for the last three months.

The FIR was filed by the Delhi Police under sections 419 (cheating by impersonation), 465 (forgery), 468 (forgery for the purpose of cheating), 471 (using as genuine a forged document), and 120B (criminal conspiracy) of the IPC.

Following the Lok Sabha security breach in December last year, the CISF replaced the Delhi Police and the CRPF units to take over the security of the entire region. Six months ago, on the 22nd anniversary of the 2001 Parliament attack (December 13), two men – Sagar Sharma and Manoranjan D – had entered the lower house and threw smoke cannisters inside the Parliament, triggering panic among the MPs.

A total of six people, namely Manoranjan D, Lalit Jha, Amol Shinde, Mahesh Kumawat, Sagar Sharma, and Neelam Azad, were arrested for orchestrating the breach.
