Mr. Vajpayee is the first non-Congress Prime Minister of India who served a full term in office. He was born in Gwalior in 1924 and became the face of BJP for several decades.

This is the first time NDA allies were officially invited by the BJP for Vajpayee”s death anniversary event at Sadaiv Atal. And the meeting is in view of the general elections next year in which the united Opposition bloc INDIA is expecting a victory over NDA.

The ruling BJP is trying to showcase their strength to the opposition alliance. They also organized a mega meet comprising 38 parties in Delhi last month.

“I join the 140 crore people of India in paying homage to the remarkable Atal Ji on his Punya Tithi. India benefitted greatly from his leadership”, wrote Prime Minister Narendra Modi on X (formerly Twitter).

“He was devoted to the service of the nation throughout his life. And played a pivotal role in boosting our nation”s progress and in taking it to the 21st century in a wide range of sectors”, PM added.

“The Opposition is disheartened and disappointed. They know that in 2024 too, people of the country will not trust them and there is no scope of their return to power. So, a disheartened Opposition is speaking anything they want. But people of the country place their full trust in PM Modi”s leadership and in 2024, NDA will make a hattrick”, said Union Minister Anupriya Patel at Sadaiv Atal.

Rajya Sabha Deputy Chairman Harivansh, Union Minister of Road Transport and Highways Nitin Gadkari, Praful Patel, Union Minister of Law and Justice Minister of Law and Justice were also paid tribute to the former Prime Minister.
