Yamaraja Conducts 'Long Jump' On Pothole: Video Goes Viral

The video shows a man dressed as Yamaraja, the God of Death, conducting a long jump competition on a pothole-ridden road with participants dressed as ghosts.

A video from Karnataka’s Udupi has gone viral on various social media platforms. The video is seen as a creative protest against the poor condition of roads. The video shows a man dressed as Yamaraja, the God of Death, conducting a long jump competition on a pothole-ridden road with participants dressed as ghosts. It went viral on the X platform soon after it was posted by a user.

Users have started mentioning the Corporators, MLA and MP of Udupi for not taking up the issue with the authorities in the comment section. “Whatever happens. no one will take action to bring good roads.” said an X user. Another one stated, “Corporators are also politicians, if there’s not enough money to make surely they will not do it until the entire stretch of the road is fully damaged and few accidents, possibly fatal ones, occur.”

The event was staged to draw attention to the problems caused by the potholes as the citizens are facing huge challenges travelling through the road. This unique protest follows a similar incident in Hyderabad, where a woman sat in a pothole filled with muddy water, holding a placard that read “Where is our road tax and municipal tax?” She highlighted the dangers of potholes, citing injuries to her children and pointing out 30 potholes on a single stretch of road. The protests question the utilisation of taxes paid by citizens for road maintenance and the negligence of government.
