CM Pinarayi Vijayan Visits Victims Of Kalamassery Blast

Kerala Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan visits victims of the Kalamassery blast which killed the lives of three, including 12 year old and injured many. He also visited the Zamra International Convention & Exhibition Centre, where the blast happened. The tragic incident happened on Saturday at Jehova’s Witnesses convention centre.

Multiple blast took place during the prayer meet in which around 2000 followers were participating. By evening Dominic Martin, who is from the same sect surrendered to police claiming responsibility of the blast.

The Kerala CM has visited the hospital in which the patients who were injured was admitted. In a statement released on his X (formerly twitter), Mr. Vijayan said he had also talked with the “grieving relatives” of Kumari and Leona Paulus who lost their lives in the blast.

In his statement, the Chief Minister assured that the “investigation is progressing efficiently” and urged Keralites to “steer clear of unnecessary controversies”.

Along with grief, the blast has garnered the headaches of blame games and sparks of communal rivalries. Report say, situation would have been vividly different if Mr. Martin, who is from the “same sect” did not claimed responsibility.

Right after the blast, BJP leaders Mr. have accused Kerala about aiding terrorism. According to them, the blast was terrorist doing.

While talking to ANI, Mr. Vijayan said he is not asking what is wrong with the Union Minister Rajeev Chandrasekhar and it is because Mr. Chandrasekhar’s “mind cannot see it, and that is why it is not possible to destroy Kerala’s identity”.

 

Talking to ANI, Mr. Chandrasekhar has called the Kerala CM a liar and accused that “having links with SDPI, PFI and Hamas” is communal and none of the BJP members have any such links.

 

Congress leader Rahul Gandhi pronounced his “condolences for the bereaved family” and condemned the incident.

Mr. Gandhi also urged the government to conduct a thorough probe in to the incident.
