Kerala Govt Invites Vloggers With 300K+ Followers, 10M+ Reach For Outreach Program

Thiruvananthapuram, Kerala: The Kerala government is inviting applications from vloggers and social media creators to reach across platforms, including YouTube, Instagram and Facebook. The outreach to vloggers in the state is under the Department of Information and Public Relations, Local news outlet, Mathrubhumi reports. It is  reported that the top select vloggers are called to form a panel of subject-specific creators who will help the government communicate the state’s stories of development to the people.

Social media creators who meet certain criteria can only send application as part of the initiative, and hence vloggers with a minimum of 3,00,000 followers will only be considered. Additionally, the potential candidates should have at least 10 million in total reach across social media platforms.

Moreover, the applicants must have uploaded at least three videos with a significant reach in the past six months, and the content can be in either Malayalam or English, but should be creative and compelling.

The candidates should be independent content creators using their own production setups, and ready to produce high-quality content as per the department’s requirements. There are no age restrictions when applying for the project.

Candidates should submit a letter of consent to create topic-based content, including evidence to prove followers’ count, sample content links and personal details.

It is said that the government’s move is in recognition of the growing influence of social media on the public, and with elections nearing, the move is being seen as part of the government’s strategy to amplify its achievements.

The final date to submit application for the outreach program is August 13. Notably, it mentioned that vloggers who made controversial remarks or involved in criminal cases will not be considered.
