An extra ordinary story of friendship and sharing emerged from Kerala recently.
Nuaim, a sixth-grade student from Kerala”s Palakkad, drew a portrait of famous vlogger Moinu who runs Moinu Vlogs and invited him to his house to give him a “surprise”. Moinu”s video posts on media is famous for its engagement with the public due to the nature of its content; mostly covering social issues and public interest stories.
After much insistence, Moinu went to the young boy”s house and received the surprise, which was a large portrait of himself drawn by Nuaim. Moinu posted a video of himself meeting Nuaim and receiving the gift from the young artist on his Facebook profile. The video shows Nuaim, the son of a tailor working in the UAE, showing Moinu his other works, which are also very good.
The conversation happening between the vlogger, the boy and his mother is heartwarming.
“He has no formal training in drawing,” Nuaim”s mother Mubeena told Moinu in the video. “I want to be an artist,” Nuaim said when he asked about his future plans.
After watching the video, some of Moinu”s followers asked him to give Nuaim a gift for the portrait. The vlogger, who always finds time to engage with his followers, listens to his followers and decides to give Nuaim a bicycle. The vlogger has over 458,000 followers on Facebook alone.
What happened next is something interesting and, according the vlogger, this was the first time he come across such remarkable instances of human goodness.
Moinu called Nuaim to ask if he had a bicycle. Nuaim told him that he did not have a bicycle, but that he did not want one. He said that his friend Sankeerth wanted a bicycle, but could not afford one. This moved the vlogger. He was wondering how could a class six student deny an object he wants to possess, yet do not want to get one, and wants to give it to his friend, who has no means for it.
Moinu then went to Nuaim”s house and showed him the bicycle he had bought. He asked Nuaim again if he wanted the bicycle, but Nuaim again insisted that he wanted his friend Sankeerth to have it first.
Moinu, along with his friend Ansal and Nuaim, then went to Sankeerth”s house and presented him with the bicycle. After that, they all left.
As they were leaving Sankeerth”s house, Moinu stopped Nuaim and took him to an auto rickshaw parked nearby. Inside the autorickshaw was another bicycle, which had been bought by one of Moinu”s friends, Ansal, for Nuaim.
Moinu said that children like Nuaim are a “hope in these troubled times.”
Both the videos, done in Malayalam by Moinu, have garnered more than 6 million views.
