Peravur Sees Active Polling As Sunny Joseph Expresses Confidence In UDF's Prospects

Peravur, Kannur: Polling went smoothly in the Peravur Assembly constituency on Thursday. Voters came out early to cast their votes in what is thought to be a close race between the UDF and LDF.

Sunny Joseph, president of the Kerala Pradesh Congress Committee, voted in the morning and said he was sure that the United Democratic Front would win the state by a large margin. He also said he was hopeful about keeping Peravur, where he is running for a fourth straight term.

Sunny Joseph and K. K. Shailaja, the LDF candidate, are running against each other in the constituency, making it one of the most important battlegrounds in the district.

There were mostly peaceful polls, and people kept coming to the booths. The patterns of voter turnout throughout the day are likely to be very important in deciding the outcome in this closely watched constituency.
