When one hears the name Dior or Armani, one imagines delicate craftsmanship, the finest materials, and luxury. A Dior handbag is often seen as a status symbol. However, a recent Wall Street Journal report has uncovered the dark scenes operating behind the production of such high-end products.
The report revealed that luxury brands Dior and Armani were found exploiting foreign labour to produce high-end products at cheap prices (a fraction of their retail prices) by the Milan judiciary.

Reacting to the shocking news, Paytm founder Vijay Shekhar Sharma expressed, “I always wonder why people feel the need to carry these badges to impress others.”

The Paytm founder shared that for him, anyone flaunting such brands was a “red flag.” Encouraging wiser financial choices on purchasing finer products based on non-materialistic features, he observed, “Buy performance, unique craftsmanship, or some specialty, but not just a badge.”

Another user called Parag Arora wrote, “Non-obvious things are contagious. An expensive bag tag or owning a purple cow are both the same. A high price tag with a little bit premiumness than others is ticking the box for them.”
