Amol Kohle, the actor-turned politcian, NCP(SP) candidate is leading from the Shirur constituency with 328,407 votes, as per the Election Commission report. The vote margin is recorded as 5,30,87 votes as of 3 pm. Amol Kohle is the current MP from the seat and is a well known actor among the Marathi viewers for his role as Sambhaji.
Adhalrao Shivaji Dattatrey, NCP candidate for the constituency is the former member of the parliament. He won from the constituency by a margin of 301,814 votes.
Marathi actor Amol Kohle is the NCP(SP) candidate from the constituency. He is famous for his role in the Chhatrapati Shivaji in the TV series Raja Shiv Chhatrapati. He got involved in the politics and the actor turned into star campaigner in the 2014 Lok Sabha election. He joined NCP in 2019, just before the Lok sabha elections. He has contested from the Shirur on NCP ticket against three-term sitting MP Shivajirao and emerged as the winner.
The Shirur Lok Sabha seat was established in 2008 with its inaugural election being held in 2009. The current MP from the constituency is Amol Kohle. While the opposition Maha Vikas Aghadi unanimously endorsed Dr Kolhe, the constituency was allocated to Ajit Pawar’s party during the seat-sharing negotiations within the Maha Yuti.
In the 2014 Lok Sabha election, Patil won by a significant margin, receiving 643,415 votes, while the runner-up , NCPs Devdatt Nikam won by garnering 341,601 votes.
In the 2019 election, Amol Ramsing Kohle (NCP) won by securing 635,830 votes and Shivajirao Adhalrao Patil came second with 341,601 votes.
