Ending India’s 1.5 billions people’s waiting to know their political fate, 2024 Lok Sabha election result are being announced today for the 543 constituencies. The Surat seat has already been announced. This live takes you though the updates of the result from three South Indian state- Kerala, Tamil Nadu and Karnataka. As the BJP is looking to expand its footprint in South, the 2024 general election result proves if the party can make inroads in the saffron-free states such as Kerala and Tamil Nadu.

In Kerala, there are 20 Lok Sabha seats and three major fronts racing from the front – Congress-led UDF, CPM-led LDF and BJP-led NDA. In Tamil Nadu, the election for a total of 39 Lok Sabha constituencies were held, and there are three major players vying to captures them. Two Dravidian fronts includes the ruling DMK-led India bloc and AIADMK. Besides, the BJP allied with small regional parties, is posing a challenge to major Dravidian parties. In Karnataka, the race is between the Congress-led India bloc and the BJP-JD(S) alliance.

June 4, 2024, 8.15 AM: In Kerala, as per latest updates, UDF and LDF is leading in most of the constituencies from the state. Surprisingly, the BJP’s Rajeev Chandra Shekhar is leading from Thiruvananthapuram from where the Congress heavyweight Shashi Tharoor is contesting. In Tamil Nadu, DMK dominates the lead by leading in 13 seats. June 4, 2024, 8.30 AM: In Kerala, the LDF is leading in eight seat, while the UDF also coming leading with the same number. Congress leader Shashi Tharoor has gained the lead over the Union Minister. In Karnataka, NDA is leading 19 while the INDIA bloc is trailing behind with three seats. In Tamil Nadu, INDIA bloc is dominating the result, leading 18 seats while the NDA manages to lead one.

June 4, 2024, 9.00 AM: In Karnataka, NDA is leading in 23 while the INDIA bloc is ahead in three seat. Notably, BJP’s Rajeev Chandrashekar has captured the lead in Kerala’s Thiruvananthapuram constituency. In Alappuzha constituency, NDA candidate Shobha Surendra is surprisingly leading over the other fronts. In Tamil Nadu, DMK-led INDIA bloc is leading 33 seats while NDA in one.

June 4, 2024, 9.15 AM: In Kerala, Shashi Tharoor has come ahead of the Union Minister, while the BJP’s star campaigner Suresh Gopi took over the lead in Thrissur constituency. In Karnataka, controversial JD(S) leader Prajwal Ravenna is leading from Hassan constituency. In Tamil Nadu, the BJP’s major hope Annamalai is leading from the Coimbatore seat.

June 4, 2024, 9.30 AM: UDF is dominating the lead in 16 seats while the LDF is leading only one seat. NDA’s Suresh Gopi has been retaining his seat. In Karnataka, the NDA is leading in 16, Congress in nine and JD(S) in three. In Tamil Nadu, DMK-led NDA is leading in 35 while the AIADMK is leading in three. The NDA is leading in one seat.

June 4, 2024, 11.00 AM: In Kerala, the NDA candidates Rajeev Chandrashekar and Suresh Gopi is making lead in Kerala, where no BJP candidates have ever won Lok Sabha elections. Suresh Gopi has surpassed 40,000 lead while the Thiruvandanapuram BJP candidate is leading by 12,000.

June 4, 2024, 12.50 PM: As per the latest updates, NDA is about to open its account in Kerala as the Thrissur candidate Suresh Gopi is making big lead. BJP candidate Rajeev Chandrashekhar is also leading in Thiruvandanapuram. The UDF is leading in 17 seats, while the LDF in one seat. In Karnataka, BJP is leading in 16 while the Congress in 10 and JD(S) in two. In Tamil Nadu, INDIA bloc is making big lead over other fronts.

June 4, 2024, 01.45 PM: In Kerala, UDF is leading in 18 seats, LDF and NDA in one for each. Union Minister Rajeev Chandrashekhar was pushed to the second position as counting is still continuing.  Shashi Tharoor is leading by around 10000 votes majority. June 4, 2024, 04.30 PM: In Kerala, UDF is sweeping the Lok Sabha constituencies, with the party leading in 18 seats. The LDF has won one seat and the BJP is leading one. NDA’s Suresh Gopi is close to open the first account for the BJP in Kerala. In Tamil Nadu, DMK-led INDIA bloc is leading in all 40 constituencies.

June 4, 2024, 07.15 PM: In Kerala, the Congress-led UDF has swept 18 seats while the CMP-led LDF and the BJP-led NDA won each seats. Notably, the BJP’s Thrissur victory marks the saffron party’s foray into Kerala in the parliamentary elections. On the other hand, the southern state Tamil Nadu has pushed BJP aside. The DMK-led NDA has swept all 40 seats in the state. The AIADMK also failed to secure victory even in single seat.

June 4, 2024, 07.45 PM: As counting endsIn Karnataka, BJP has won 17 seats, while the Congress emerged victorious in nine seats. The saffron party lost several of its sitting seats to the Congress party. It had won 25 seats in 2019. The party’s ally, JD(S) has won two seats.
