“People Want Rahul Gandhi To Lead Them”: Shiv Sena MP Sanjay Raut

“People love Rahul Gandhi,” said MP Sanjay Raut on Thursday. He was speaking to the media ahead of the INDIA alliance meeting in Mumbai on Thursday. 

Mr Raut is a Shiv Sena (Uddhav Balasaheb Thackeray) leader. He is a member of the Parliament of India representing Maharashtra in the Rajya Sabha.

According to Mr Raut, people of India is waiting for Congress MP Rahul Gandhi to lead the country.

“They [People] want to work under his leadership”, he noted.

“But all of us will sit together and discuss on putting an end to the differences between some of the parties” Mr Raut added. 


INDIA  alliance is having their third meeting on August 31 and September 1 in Mumbai. The Indian National Developmental Inclusive Alliance (INDIA) is a big tent political alliance of 26 political parties in India led by the Indian National Congress. They together are aiming to defeat the BJP led NDA alliance in the upcoming 2024 parliament elections.

“As the opposition’s INDIA alliance advances, seeing our power, China will start stepping back from borders”, ANI quoted MP Raut.


He also criticised the NDA state meet particularly targeting Maharashtra Chief Minister Eknath Shinde.

On September 1, both INDIA and NDA are having parallel high-level meetings in Maharashtra’s Mumbai.
