Vijay Kumar Dubey: The Sitting MP To Contest From Kushinagar

Vijay Kumar Dubey is an MP in the 17th Lok Sabha from Kushi Nagar, Uttar Pradesh. He secured his name again in the candidates list released by the Bhartiya Janata Party (BJP) to run for the upcoming Lok Sabha election 2024 from the same constituency. In the 2019 Parliamentary elections, Vijay Kumar won his place among the total 80 MPs from Uttar Pradesh.

Vijay Kumar Dubey hails from Mathiya Bujurg, Kushi Nagar, UP, and holds a graduation degree. His political career started after joining Hindu Yuva Vahini in 2001 and later became district coordinator. While protesting against Yogi Adityanath in Gorakhpur in 2007 under the Samajwadi Party’s government, he was charged under the IPC 307 and detained in the NSA.

His political career has seen lots of twists and turns as he switched between different parties. Being a member and secretary of Hindu Yuva Vahini, he became a youth face in Kushinagar and got closer to Yogi Adityanath. Considering his popularity, BJP declared him as a Lok Sabha candidate from Kushinagar in 2009 but he lost to RPN Singh of Congress. Later he joined Congress in 2010 due to some internal disputes in HIYUVA and in 2012, Vijay Kumar Dubey won election to the State Assembly from Khadda. In 2016, he returned to the BJP and secured his name in 2019 BJP’s Parliamentary candidate’s list and later won the elections from Kushinagar.

A warrant was also issued against the Kushinagar BJP MP Vijay Kumar Dubey in separate cases of road blockage over sugarcane price payments in 2009 and 2014. He has a total of 5 cases registered in his name.

His wife Ranjana Dubey had been the Block Pramukh of Khadda from 2010 to 2015.
