
20-Year Old Dies During College Farewell; Sparks Debate Over Increasing Young Deaths In India
A 20 year old student, Varsha Kharat died suddently on stage during a farewell event at R.G Shine College in Dharashiv, Maharashtra. The sudden death of the student on stage has lead to the debate around increasing numbers of such unexpected young people’s deaths in the country.
Varsha Kharat was speaking at the even while her teachers and audience was listening to her. Kharat was seen falling while addressing people during the farewell event at her college.

The viral video questions the lack of a national debate on rising heath attack cases, with a Mumbai hospital reportedly said to an increase of 15-20% in emergency ward hearth attack cases. People are speculating a potential link to the Covishield vaccine. Also, criticising government’s inaction to acknowledge the increase in such cases and leading any probe.

Eminent Indian journalist Ravish Kumar while sharing the post on his social media account ‘X’ showed concern about the rise in such cases of sudden deaths in India. While writing to the X he said, “There should be some investigation into such cases. The series of such news is not stopping.”
Recently, a similar case from a wedding function in Madhya Pradesh came into the news where a young woman collapsed due to hearth attack while performing on the stage.
However, reportedly, a 2023 ICMR study found no connection between the deaths and COVID-19 vaccination.
