
"If India Halts Operation Sindoor, We Will Refrain": Pakistan Defence Minister
India has launched Operation Sindoor against Pakistan’s terror attack on Pahalgam in Kashmir. The precision strikes were in response to the brutal Pahalgam terror attack on April 22 that claimed 26 lives, including one Nepali citizen.
Reportedly attacks, carried out at 1:44 am, targeted terrorist infrastructure, including Muridke and Bahawalpur, believed to be the strongholds of terror groups Lashkar-e-Taiba and Jaish-e-Mohammed, respectively.

While reacting to India’s attack on Pakistan, Pakistan’s Defence Minister Khawaja Muhammad Asif said, “If India halts operation, we will refrain”. While PM Shahbaz Sharif said his country has “every right to respond forcefully to this act of war”.
A few hours ago, in a live television broadcast, Pakistan’s defence minister said to retaliate unimaginably. He said, “If we are not, then there will be no one”.

“India has launched #OperationSindoor, a precise and restrained response to the barbaric #PahalgamTerrorAttack that claimed 26 lives, including one Nepali citizen. Focused strikes were carried out on nine #terrorist infrastructure sites in Pakistan and Pakistan-occupied Jammu and Kashmir, targeting the roots of cross-border terror planning. Importantly, no Pakistani military facilities were hit, reflecting India’s calibrated and non-escalatory approach. This operation underscores India’s resolve to hold perpetrators accountable while avoiding unnecessary provocation. A detailed briefing on the operation will follow later today”, said the Ministry of Defence in its statement.
At least 3 civilians have been killed and several wounded in Indian-administered Kashmir amid heavy exchanges of artillery fire between Indian and Pakistani forces. “
Pakistan’s Information Minister Attaullah Tarar warned India to face Pakistan’s “very fierce response,” after India fired missiles killed at least eight people including a child.
India’s missiles struck 9 locations in Pakistan-administered Kashmir and in the country’s eastern Punjab province. Reportedly, one strike hit a mosque in the city of Bahawalpur in Punjab, where a child was killed and a woman and man were injured.
While casualties have reported on both sides and Pakistan has claimed that it has shot down five Indian aircraft. “So far, I can confirm to you that five Indian aircraft – including three Rafale, one SU-30 and one MiG-29 – and one Heron drone have also been shot down,” Pakistan military spokesperson Lt-Gen Ahmed Sharif Chaudhary has said in a video shared by Reuters. However, India has not responded to the claims yet.
